The
state's leading pro-life organization issued the following statement regarding
the Susan G. Komen organization's flip flop on funding for abortion provider and
promoter Planned Parenthood:
"While we regret that donor dollars will continue to be
funneled to an organization that sells more abortions than anyone else, pro-life
advocates should take confidence in the fact that now the broad majority of
Americans realize the Komen connection with the world's foremost abortion
provider and promoter," said Brian Harris, president of Tennessee Right to
Life.
"Komen has
accomplished for the Right to Life movement what might have otherwise taken much
more time and many more resources. Millions of pro-life Americans, who have the
momentum all across the nation, now know to avoid any involvement with Komen
until they become consistently committed to protecting all human life," said
Harris.
